The jar arrived a few days ago, safely nestled in a box with padding. I left it on the kitchen counter. The jar itself is a crystal jelly jar that some people use for canning jams or jellies.
An easy pop of the lid yielded a lovely, delicate coconut smell. I grabbed a spoon and reached all the way down to the bottom to make sure I got all the layers in one spoonful.
The cake was light and fluffy with coconut shavings and coconut cream frosting. It didn't take long before it was half gone....
I probably should have stopped then...but I didn't. For me, the frosting became a little too sweet at that point. I bet if I had stopped then and saved the rest for another day, I don't think it would have been as sweet.
