5 for Five - Sept 29

So what is 5 For Five? In the short form, it is 5 goals I want to achieve this week. Next week, I will report on my success (or failure).

Here were the goals from last week:

1. Finish those May newspapers. I'm at May 25. Nope.
2. Finish the 2 rainbow baby posts. Finished one of them. Watch for it soon.
3. Focus on Dan's room and making it Shelby proof. Nope.
4. Put together a plan for what I need to do each day. Sort of.
5. Figure out the printing issue with my computer. I started it, hubby finished it.

Ok, another bad week.  I really need to refocus.  So what are my goals for this week???

5 For Five - Sept 22

So what is 5 For Five? In the short form, it is 5 goals I want to achieve this week. Next week, I will report on my success (or failure).

Here were the goals from last week:
1. Finish the May newspapers. Nope.
2. Organize my NNPDF papers. Nope. I got some information sent out, but not organized.
3. Finish the rainbow baby posts. Nope.
4. Menu plan to empty the chest freezer to defrost it. Nope.
5. Take 5 things out of Dan's room that don't belong.  Shelby has been enjoying going in there, so I need to move some of the items we don't want to loose out of the room (or at least to higher ground!) Faron had to do some quick thinking when Shelby got into things but there is still a lot to do.

Ok, another bad week.  I really need to refocus.  So what are my goals for this week???

Smiles and Tears

When you have kids, you baby-proof.  One aspect of baby-proofing is putting latches on cabinet doors so little fingers can't open them and eat chemicals or have items everywhere.

We have one cabinet that was away from all the others.  So we decided to make that a toy cabinet.  We would put toys in there for Dan to play with and he would take them out and put them back or put other things in there...including himself!

We obviously cleared out the cabinet in the past few years.  We put random things in it and truthfully, I forgot what we put in there.  Well, Shelby found the cabinet and I found out.

Oooo...papers!  Let me see what trouble I can get into!

And then this happened.

We The People

As Americans those three words are the beginning of one of the most important documents in this country - the U.S. Constitution.
"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Today, September 17 is Constitution Day. Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787, recognizing all who, are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens. (source)

Take some time today and revisit the U.S. Constitution. You can see the images of the document on the National Archive webpage

5 For Five - Sept 15

So what is 5 For Five? In the short form, it is 5 goals I want to achieve this week. Next week, I will report on my success (or failure).

Here were the goals from last week:
1. Finish the May newspapers. Nope.  Not even close.
2. Publicize my Jamberry business. Done. Started my Facebook page and hosted a great online party.  I also did a vendor show (in the rain) and booked another show.
3. Finish the rainbow baby posts. Nope.
4. Menu plan to empty the chest freezer to defrost it. Nope.  But we are eating food out of the freezer, so it is emptying.
5. Take 5 things out of Dan's room that don't belong.  Shelby has been enjoying going in there, so I need to move some of the items we don't want to loose out (or at least to higher ground!) Nope.

Ok, I got side tracked by Jamberry this past week.  So what are my goals for this week???

Patriot Day

It was 13 years ago today when the unthinkable happened.

On my way into work today I realized that it has been 13 years.  It has been long enough for some of those born in 2001 to be nearing high school and the events of today to be included in their history books.

5 For Five - Sept 8

So what is 5 For Five? In the short form, it is 5 goals I want to achieve this week. Next week, I will report on my success (or failure).

Here were the goals from last week:
1. Read newspapers until May  20 (12 newspapers). Almost. Got to May 19.
2. Finish my rainbow baby posts. Nope.
3. Do a bit of menu planning. Nope.
4. Organize Shelby's clothes Nope.
5. Take 5 things out of Dan's room that don't belong. Nope.

Ok, so this was a really bad week.  Holiday weeks tend to do that to me - I get totally off kilter and forget what I need to do.

So what are my goals for this week???

Grandparents Day

Did you know that the first Sunday after Labor Day is Grandparents Day?

My first instinct was - this is a "Hallmark" holiday.  But it is a true holiday.

So to honor the Grandparents and Great-Grandparents, here are some photos:

A Mid-Life Crisis? or Doing Something for Me?

You hear about men going through a mid-life crisis and buying sports cars or dating younger women.

Women can also have a mid-life crisis.  No, I'm not buying sports cars or dating younger men.

But I did turn 40 this year, and life has been challenging the past few years.

So I went out of my comfort zone and did something that some may think is crazy - I became a Jamberry Nail Independent Consultant!

5 For Five - Spet 1

Is is already Wednesday morning?  Where did the week go?  The holiday messed me up.

So what is 5 For Five? In the short form, it is 5 goals I want to achieve this week. Next week, I will report on my success (or failure).

Here were the goals from last week:
1. Read newspapers until May 10. (11 newspapers) Done!
2. Write the rest of my rainbow baby posts. Nope.
3. Enjoy the last week of summer. Done!  See my post last week.
4. Take at least 15 minutes to clean around my home computer. Done! Did more than that too.
5. Match menus with ingredients we have in the house. Nope.

So this was a 3 out of 5.  Some of these are works in progress. But the one I did do was the most important.  I'm focusing on small goals to start feeling productive again.

So what are my goals for this week???
