Yummy Goodness in a Jar

A few weeks ago, Crystal at Momma Blogga asked for volunteers to try out her Cake in a Jar.  So what is a Cake in a Jar?  Exactly what it sounds like!

The jar arrived a few days ago, safely nestled in a box with padding.  I left it on the kitchen counter.  The jar itself is a crystal jelly jar that some people use for canning jams or jellies.

An easy pop of the lid yielded a lovely, delicate coconut smell.  I grabbed a spoon and reached all the way down to the bottom to make sure I got all the layers in one spoonful.

The cake was light and fluffy with coconut shavings and coconut cream frosting.  It didn't take long before it was half gone....

I probably should have stopped then...but I didn't.  For me, the frosting became a little too sweet at that point.  I bet if I had stopped then and saved the rest for another day, I don't think it would have been as sweet.

Are you interested in tasting some for yourself??

Check out her etsy store here: Creole Confections.  She sends out packages of six jars at a time.  Please contact Crystal if you are interested in a special flavor or for a special occasion.

She currently has these announcements posted:
